All about Alex

Well, where do I start? It has been TWO YEARS since my last blog entry! I will try to recap as much as possible!
November 2009 ~ Our little "angel baby" Jake came into the world. He has been such a blessing to us and to Alex! He was such an easy baby and is always smiling and laughing. He is so curious and just so full of life!
April 2010 ~ Alex officially started talking!!!! This is a month and moment I will never forget! He was 3 1/2 years old.



We also found out around this time that Jim was being discharged from the navy! Man, we could not have been two HAPPIER people!!! Lots of stress along the way, but well worth it to be going back home to KC where we can be around friends and family!!

We made it home in May. We went ahead and took a big risk and bought our house about 6 months prior to knowing for sure he was going to get out, good thing that worked out :)

We get to MO and Alex got a "life size" horse from grandma Kuder. Unfortunately, it was "a little rough" and grandma casey found the exact horse at a garage sale. This led to a 6-8 month obsession with horses.

Just another little clip from when we JUST got back to MO, so maybe in June. You can see how much language he has gotten in just a short amount of time.

So that got us through our first few months back in MO. I will type a little more and post more tomorrow.

Alex is still GFCF. At this point, he isn't on many supplements. When we first got back to KC he was having HUGE language gains and doing so good that we kind started taking them out little by little, which we later regretted... Ms. Sarah started working with Alex once a week after school. And not too long after that he started going to Marian Hope Center once a week for 3 hours to work on social skills, OT, and speech. We were still seeing gains, but also starting to see some regression. Starting to hit more and get more frustrated. Some of it is because he KNOWS the feeling of frustration and doesn't quite know how to express himself, and part of it is that Jake is now old enough to start pestering him :) He is talking so much better now and he is singing, counting to 20, knows all his colors, can match and identify them. He is starting to script quite a bit, but he is using it functionally, which is AWESOME! I am going to stop for now, but I will try to get caught up on Alex tomorrow and move on to "all about jake" :)
